Northern California Fishing Report
Norcal LakesNorcal Rivers

Lake Berryessa

9/10/07

Kokes will be done soon but trolling from 60 to 70 feet deep with spinners and spoons from the Ranch House to the Big Island and back will find both fresh and "red" fish. Catfishing is always good around the lake on livers and hot dogs, some big ones can be caught at night or day. The bass action has slowed a bit but you can still get them with minnows.

Indian Valley Reservoir

9/10/07

LOW, LOW, LOW, is the word for the water that is. If you can get past the bad road you can still get the bass or even some trout. We picked up a bass and a trout from the bank with a minnow under and bobber about 8 feet deep. Although fishing from the bank by the dam can be risky because it's so steep you can still get into some fish. I also landed a few red ears using a night crawler under a bobber.
I hear they are catching some catfish with stink baits.

Clear Lake

9/10/07

You can always catch catfish with liver or cut baits.

Lake Mendocino

9/10/07

Stripers from 9 to 14 pounds are biting by the south launch. Try anchovies and you may pick up a catfish as well.

Napa River

9/10/07

Fishing has been great for the striper fisherman on the Napa River. Bank fisherman are still picking up the schoolies using anchovies with a few bigger fish being reported. While the trollers are picking up a few fish. Action should pick up about Octber for the big fish.
